To assist in your transition to Serenity House, here are some guidelines for your preparation and packing. If you have any questions or need clarification, please contact us.

DO Bring:

  • Clothing and shoes for at least one week of living in various weather conditions

  • Groceries for a week

  • Lock box for medications and personal effects

  • Personal Hygiene Items - all must be alcohol-free (Dental/Shampoo/Soap/Razors/Deodorant/Sanitary, etc.)

  • Small personal effects as desired such as photos, extra bedding

  • Plastic hangers and a laundry basket

  • A small amount of cash ($50 to $100 in smaller bills) or prepaid debit card for store runs, bus passes, and other transportation

  • Aftercare or discharge plans from prior treatment or providers

  • Cell phone

  • Your current prescription medication in the original pharmacy bottle with the information label intact. Any liquid medications must be new and sealed. You should also bring a list of all of your medications and dosages

  • Your checkbook, credit card or debit card to pay for rent, medications and incidentals

  • Your insurance cards and a form of identification (driver’s license, state ID, passport)

DON’T Bring:

  • Large personal effects

  • Items of value

  • Candles

Provided by Serenity House:

  • All bed linens, pillows, blankets, and towels. You may bring your own if desired

  • Common use items such as cookware, dining ware, small kitchen appliances, cleaning products, toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, hand soap, and laundry detergent
